You can access the screen to make these changes by hitting Win + R and typing in services.msc and hitting enter. I have "ARMOURY CRATE Service" set to Manual start instead of Automatic, as well as "ROG Live Service", "ASUS Update Service (asus)" and "ASUS Update Service (asusm)". There's a few of the related services that you can actually prevent from running, which prevents it hogging so many resources, whilst still having it function for RGB control. I have it installed so I can set up my motherboard RGB, but once it's set how I want it, I never run the software. I'm running the latest version of Armoury Crate as of 14th August 2022, which is 5.2.12.0 When you power back on, go back into BIOS/UEFI and ensure that the setting in there is still set to "Stealth" or "Aura Off".Īfter that, you should be good. I'd recommend setting the shutdown effect to "off", then immediately closing armoury crate and shutting down. I've actually seen Armoury Crate reset this setting itself whilst I was looking at other stuff within the program, and then came back to that tab to see it had reset. You need to change the setting to "Stealth" or "Aura Off" in your BIOS/UEFI and then when it boots into windows, load up Armoury Crate and under "devices" you can set the shutdown effect to "off" with a little toggle switch at the top, above where it allow you to select the type of shutdown effect. Note: I know this is an old thread, however it is relevant and is one of the top results on Google when searching for this problem.
